My name is Oliver Maclean. I am a young film maker and writer. I am obsessed with every aspect of the moving image, from practical effects and stop motion to fight coordination and sound.
I have a special love for animation and video games, both their direction and writing, and how they bring imaginary worlds to life. My main inspirations are the catalogue of films by Hayao Miyazaki, as well as the video game 'Deltarune' by Toby Fox and the catalogue of films by Tomm Moore. Other media pieces that inspired me are the anime adaptations of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure by Hirohiko Araki and Naokatsu Tsuda and Jujutsu Kaisen by Gege Akutami and Shota Goshozono. I have a love for projects that can explore aspects of the natural world, identity and mental health in creative an innovative ways.
